meeting will be held at the MARPE office located in the RDPFFA building
at 2525 E. 14 Mile Rd., Sterling Heights, MI 48310. This meeting will
follow the Board of Directors meeting that starts at at 6:30 pm.

A new organization
has been formed whose mission is to assist and inform all retired
public employees whether State, County, And Local or School affiliated.
It is open to both union and non union retired public employees.
The Michigan Association of Retired Public Employees founded in June
2010, is organized under provisions of the Michigan non-profit
corporation Act. The MI-ARPE will focus primarily on current and
impending legislation affecting state, county, and municipal and public
school employees. The Association will further communicate and exchange
information with similar organizations to enhance understanding of
shared concerns for the protection of our members and their well earned
pensions and benefits. To accomplish goals the Association must rely on
strength through numbers and the unity of the membership. Currently we
have over 10,000 members in Michigan. Are you interested in this

On August 3rd Michigan had its biggest
Primary Election day in decades with a record number of candidates
filing for the House and Senate. This was caused mostly by the large
number of open seats created by Michigan's term limits creating a lot
of races to capture and share with you. It may also reflect the mood of
the voters who want to see change in their state government. Attached for your reading is our
complete report on the results and some insights from us on the outcome
and what it means for November. I hope you find the results as

people from various municipal departments met and agreed to form the
Michigan Association of Retired Public Employees to protect the rights
we acquired prior to our retirements. A temporary board was
